Calling All Teachers

The Class Proposal Submission Period for this year has closed.

The success of Costume College is reliant on our many wonderful and generous volunteer teachers. Whether you have taught for many years or have just started to share your expertise and knowledge, we want to extend an invitation to join us again this year at the 28th Annual Costume College. We welcome classes based on all areas of costuming: from basic sewing skills to advanced armor fabrication, from historical to fantasy costuming. We are looking forward to seeing what wonderful new skills, knowledge, and talents will be shared this year.

Costume College 2022 Health and Safety Requirements

Please note that the Costume College Committee is still discussing possible masking and vaccine requirements, per local laws, and hotel policies. We greatly appreciate everyone's commitment to providing a safe environment for all of our teachers, students, vendors, and staff. If you feel you cannot teach in an environment where you might be required to wear a mask while teaching, please let us know.

All Costume College 2022 Teachers are expected to follow all state laws, regulations, and ordinances, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, hotel policies, and CGW policies. Specific regulations will be provided closer to the event date, but may include actions such as:

  • Properly fitting face masks must be worn indoors at all times in all areas of the hotel and Costume College (except while in your hotel room), unless eating or drinking in designated areas
  • Proof of vaccination or recent negative COVID test is currently required per Los Angeles regulation when entering the hotel bar, restaurant, Starbucks, and gym. Due to the large number of people eating in an enclosed space, this includes the Saturday Gala Dinner and Sunday Afternoon Tea events.
  • If you are asked by anyone (including, but not limited to, hotel staff, fellow teachers, attendees, Costume College staff, or other hotel guests), to adjust your mask or put your mask on, please comply immediately. Failure to do so is considered harassment, and will not be tolerated.
  • Yelling, berating, and/or verbal abuse of any kind is considered harassment, and will not be tolerated.

If any participant at Costume College 2022, including all teachers and students, violates any of these health policies, they will be asked to leave the event (including the Gala and the Tea) and will not be refunded for the event cost.

If you have any questions or there is anything that you feel would help enhance the teaching experience, please feel free to contact us at [email protected].

Thank you in advance for sharing so much of yourself to help make Costume College a dynamic and engaging experience for all.
