Trunk Show Vendor Application Information

Trunk Show Vendor Applications are No Longer Available. The Deadline to submit was May 31, 2024.

The Trunk Show is an opportunity for Costume College attendees with costuming related businesses to display and sell their goods while still being able to attend classes. It is also an opportunity for our attendees to support their fellow costumer’s entrepreneurial endeavors. The selection of vendors participating in the Trunk Show will be juried by the Costume College Committee. Past participation does NOT guarantee inclusion into the Trunk Show 

The Trunk Show will be held Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, in Ballroom F. Vendors will have 30 minutes to set-up and one (1) hour to take down.

Please complete the online application and submit with all required paperwork no later than May 31, 2024. The Costume College Trunk Show Vendor Application will be available beginning April 13, 2024 on Costumer’s Guild West’s website. Applicants MUST be a registered attendee or teacher of Costume College. You will need to log into your CGW account/profile to access the form.

Required Paperwork to be uploaded with online application:
  • Current California Seller's Permit OR Temporary Seller's Permit (see CDTFA Temporary Seller's) OR California Department of Tax & Fee Administration Special Events Certification Form (form CDTFA-410-D REV. 9 (3-23)) if not required to hold a California Seller’s Permit (see CDTFA Publication 107 ).
  • Photo of items to be sold.
  • Photo of small floor display stand or rack.

Applicants MUST be a registered attendee or teacher of Costume College.

Application and payment must be received by May 31, 2024. Vendor selection will take place by approximately June 7, 2024. If you are not selected for the 2024 Trunk Show your payment will be promptly returned in full.

 

Trunk Show Space Rental Fee:

Table Space: One (1) sixty (60) inch round table plus one small floor display - $45.00

  • All vendors will be limited to one sixty inch round table and one small floor display, such as a mannequin, hat tree, valet stand, or small waterfall rack.
  • Larger floor display items or salesman's rolling racks will not be allowed.
  • Allowable floor display items will be determined at the sole discretion of CGW and the Trunk Show coordinator.

Terms & Conditions
Vendor set-up begins at 4:30pm on Sunday, and must be completed in time for Opening at 5:00 p.m.

Vendor pack-out will begin at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, after the Trunk Show has been closed to and emptied of all customers.

  • Pack-out must be completed by 8:00 p.m. Your Trunk Show pack-out will not be complete until your table and surrounding space has been cleaned of all trash and left in the same condition as found at set-up.
  • All table covers and table skirts shall be left on the table at the conclusion of your time slot. Lost, soiled, or damaged table covers and skirts shall be charged to the vendor at a rate of $25 each.
  • If trash is left in your space or your space is not left in the same condition you received it, you will be billed a $50.00 Cleaning Fee.

All merchandise and displays must be located within your space (as defined above) to conform to Public Safety and Fire Regulations. If any items are found outside of your defined space, you will be required to rearrange your display to meet this requirement.

Costume College will comply with all local and state laws governing public safety, fire, and earthquake standards and in particular the Los Angeles Fire Marshal’s standards for conventions and public access.

  • No Trunk Show display can rise more than 7 feet (84 inches) from the floor.
  • All displays must be self-supporting and reasonably resistant to tipping or collapse if accidentally jostled.
  • No display materials of any kind can be posted on the walls.
  • No pets or other animals will be allowed in the Trunk Show area AT ANY TIME (only licensed disabled-assistance animals will be permitted).
  • Any vendor not complying with these rules (which also govern the layout of the space) can and will be asked to leave and their Trunk Show fee will be forfeit.

Should the Vendor notify Costume College, in writing, of their intention to withdraw from the Trunk Show AT LEAST 15 days prior to Costume College, all fees shall be returned less a $15 administrative fee. Should such written notice occur less than 15 days prior to Costume College, all fees shall be forfeited.

CGW policy does not allow selling in hotel guest rooms.

The Costume College 2024 Trunk Show is open to the general public. Please spread the word to your friends and customers whether they are attending Costume College or not.
